Giving at Nails Creek

Colossians 3:17 commands us to do everything for God’s glory, whatever we do. At Nails Creek, you can be confident that what we’re doing with your gift glorifies God and honors Him.

Jesus declares that our attitude toward money is making known the focus of our hearts. Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.” Our love for God and His work will show up in how we give. The reality is that all we have is from God (Psalm 24:1). He gives according to His purposes and plans, and how we spend and give away God’s money is a fundamental aspect of worship. 1 Corinthians 16:1–2 even addresses consistent giving to the church for ministry as a directive of God to Christians. It is to be done with thoughtfulness, sacrifice, generosity, and joy - and in return, God promises blessings (2 Corinthians 9:6). Perhaps the blessing will come here on earth, but it will most definitely come in glory.

  • Tithing is an Old Testament concept - a requirement of the Law in which the Israelites were to give 10 percent of the crops they grew and the livestock they raised to the tabernacle/temple. After Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law, the Old Testament ways were put to rest. So, although there is no tithe required today, the New Testament talks about the importance and benefits of giving. Believers have freedom in this area of worship, but we are to give as we feel God would have us to. As the Lord prospers us, we should consider giving more. Sometimes that means giving more than 10 percent; sometimes that may mean giving less. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the body of Christ.

In addition to simply helping our church building stay up and running

It allows our pastor to be available to minister to anyone at anytime.

It allows us to send help for disaster relief around the world.

It allows our preschool to educate kids throughout the week while teaching them about God and ministering to their families throughout the year.

It allows us to put focus on bringing up the next generation to be disciples.

It allows us to have weekly small groups for people to dive deeper into God’s Word.

It allows us to send hope, peace, and love through God’s Word to families when they have loved ones that pass away.

It allows us to have church events to promote fellowship among believers and allows opportunities for community.
